Heater wire disconnection detection
It becomes easier to detect abnormalities in equipment by measuring the power factor rather than the magnitude of the current!
Almost all factories have a process for heating workpieces, and the temperature is an important parameter. Various processing methods are employed by heating the workpieces, utilizing phase changes between solid, liquid, and gas due to temperature, changes in physical parameters such as expansion and contraction due to temperature changes, and chemical changes caused by temperature. Although heaters are often thought to be usable semi-permanently due to their lack of moving parts, they are actually components that deteriorate due to expansion and contraction from temperature changes and oxidation at high temperatures. When a heater deteriorates, it can break, but even if one out of three heaters breaks, current will still flow through the remaining two, making it difficult to detect the breakage. SIRC proposes a method for detecting heater breakage by measuring power factor, as well as its application in detecting phase loss operation in inverters. *For more detailed information, please refer to the related links.
